This work explores the virtual and the physical results of a nomadic movement and an informational cartography where immigrants from Yucatan, Mexico operate in the context of a transnational US urban metropolitan enclave such as Los Angeles, at the same time; maintain tides with their native land.

Pdigital [X]

An interactive digital gallery presenting photographs and photo montage by Agustin Chong, Enrique Cascante, Alfredo Lugo, Elizabeth Matú and Raúl Ferrera-Balanquet. The site was first developed for the Above the Line Fellowship at the Bay Area Video Coalition in 1998.

Latino Midwest Video Collective [X]

Video collective founded in Iowa City (1986) and extebded to Merida, Yucatan_Mx (1989). The collective produced more than 15 video works between 1986 and 1996.

Resitencia Latinoamericana [X]

Ferrera-Balanquet produced the program Resistencia Latino for Deep Dish TV' series Rock the Boat in 1992. A comprehensive critical analysis and re-evaluation of Latin American history by Latin Americans is the focus of this compilation program.

El Paraiso yucateco [X]

A public art and video peroformance produced by Latino Midwest Video Collectivo. Script and prformanced by Elizabeth Matú, Enrique Cascante, Willy Vazquez, Raúl Moarquech Ferrera-Balanquet, Elegio Romero, Jorge Chable, Ariel Mendez Yerves, Raúl Niño, Sofiía Bolivar , Alfredo Lugo.
